The Committee is always looking for ways to improve Urban Edge. Some potential improvements being considered are shown below. If and when these occur depends on their feasibility, budget, and whether it fits with Urban Edge.
If you have any suggestions, contact the Committee via our Body Corporate Manager, we'd love to hear from you.
Urban Edge has no dedicated bicycle parking, so many residents must park either in their unit or in their storage cage. The committee is investigating options for a dedicated bicycle parking area.
Our function rooms are showing their age and in need of refurbishment. The committee is considering how best to use these spaces and improve their longevity.
After the new gardens have been planted as part of the entrance upgrades, it's time to review our established gardens and make improvements where needed.
To combat parcel theft and reduce parcel clutter around our building entrances, we began investigating parcel lockers in late 2023.
The building access system is coming up for replacement, so the committee is considering how we can improve the system and security. For example, garage access via registration plate recognition, video intercom, digital visitor access passes.
Telstra identified Urban Edge as a potential site for a mobile tower several years ago. Since then, the Committee has been working to maximise the benefit to Urban Edge if this were to occur.
The Body Corporate is working with Telstra because, under Commonwealth law, telecommunications companies have the power to install certain infrastructure even without the property owner's consent. By cooperating, we can negotiate the location, appearance, and terms to better protect the interests of owners and residents.
