Origin has exclusively obtained ARENA (Australian Renewable Energy Agency) funding for this project, which will contribute 50% towards the installation value, totalling approximately $320,000, with the Body Corporate providing the remaining 50%.
The EV backbone is the core infrastructure that enables future EV charging. It includes:
● Upgrades to key electrical distribution boards across the complex
● Cabling between those boards and the main electrical network
● Cable trays and support infrastructure throughout the carpark
● EV charging load management with automated reduction or disabling of charging as other building use increases e.g. air conditioning on hot days
It does not include the installation of chargers in individual carparks. Future installation of charging infrastructure from the distribution board to a car space and the charger remains the financial responsibility of individual lot owners. Current estimates for this future work are approximately $5,000 per car space, subject to site-specific conditions, payable by the Lot Owner. See our renovations page for more information.
Construction is expected between August 11 and mid-November 2025.
